Third Round of Public Meetings Scheduled for NAS Meridian JLUS

Lauderdale County, in cooperation with the East Central Planning and Development District (ECPDD) will be hosting the third round of public meetings for the Naval Air Station Meridian (NAS Meridian) and Naval Outlying Landing Field Joe Williams (NOLF) Joe Williams Joint Land Use Study (JLUS) on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 in Kemper County and Thursday, May 11, 2017 in Lauderdale County. The Draft JLUS will be presented at the meeting, including maps showing areas affected. Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions and provide comments.

The overall goal of the JLUS is to protect the viability of current and future missions at NAS Meridian and NOLF Joe Williams while accommodating growth, sustaining the economic health of the region, and protecting public health and safety.
